Ms. Volmer graduated from Loyola Marymount University with a BA in Business Administration with an emphasis in Finance and Management.  She subsequently received a Master’s Degree in Education with a major in Cross-Cultural Teaching from National University, including her CLAD Teaching credential.  Ms. Volmer has been teaching for LAUSD since 2005.  She has taught every grade from TK-5th, but kindergarten by far is her favorite!

Mrs. Morisaki has worked for LAUSD since 1995.  She has taught grades 1, 2 and 3 but her favorite is kindergarten!  She attended UCSD and received a BA in History along with her Teaching Credential in Elementary Education.  She has a Master's Degree from LMU in Language and Literacy.  She has two sons that attended Paseo del Rey.  Go Stingrays!

Susan Obuchi

1st Grade

Ms. Obuchi is a National Board Certified Teacher.  She graduated from UCLA with a BA in English Literature (Go Bruins!) and has an MA in Education from Pepperdine University. she taught for 9 years prior to coming to Paseo.  Ms. Obuchi is not new to us.  She worked as a 4th grade teacher and as a Common Core Facilitator until 2015.  Ms. Obuchi has returned to us teaching first grade this year.

 

Melisa Lauer

1st Grade

Mrs. Lauer has worked for LAUSD since 2006.  She graduated from Princeton University with a B.A. in Anthropology.  After working for several years in the documentary Film/TV industry, she switched careers and decided to become a teacher where she knew she could make a difference.  Mrs. Lauer received a Masters Degree in Education from Pepperdine University and has been teaching at Paseo for the past four years.  Last year, she worked out-of-the-classroom as a Mentor with the Cotsen Foundation’s Art of Teaching Fellowship, having the great fortune to collaborate with six wonderful Paseo teachers.

Juanita Cruz

1st Grade

Ms. Cruz graduated with a BA in Child Development from California State University Los Angeles in 2004, and received her BCLAD teaching credential from  the California State University Dominguez. She has taught in the Los Angeles Unified School District since 2006 . She taught in the Early Education division for 6 years and 1st grade since Fall of 2013. This is her first year at Paseo.

 

 


Elizabeth Jimenez

Mrs. Jimenez graduated with a B.A. in Liberal Studies from Cal State Dominguez and a BCLAD teaching credential. She has taught for 20 years with LAUSD; 12 years in Kindergarten and 8 years in first grade. She is currently the ELD Coordinator at Paseo. She loves working at Paseo because of the collaboration between teachers and across grade levels to inspire and encourage students' individual talents and strengths.

Laurie Brousseau

Mrs. Brousseau has worked for LAUSD since 2003. She has taught 4th, 1st and 2nd grade. She completed a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. She earned a Master’s of Science Degree in Kinesiology from CSULB. She loves working for a STEAM inspired school.

Rebecca Vosburgh

Ms. Vosburgh received her Degree in Broadcast Journalism at the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism at Arizona State University. Realizing that her true calling was teaching, Ms. Vosburgh attended CSULB and got her multiple subject teaching credential while substitute teaching for LAUSD. She worked in South Gate as a 4th grade teacher for 9 years while pursuing and receiving a Master's degree in Social and Multicultural Foundations of Education. She then became a National Board Certified teacher with the focus in literacy. 

Ms. Vosburgh came to Paseo in 2010 as a 2nd grade teacher.  This was one of the best decisions of my life! "I just love the energy here!" she explained. She has continued to teach 2nd grade and recently finished a fellowship with the Cotsen Foundation, in which she focused on mastering the art of teaching in reading and writing.

Ms. Margerison received her bachelor degree in Child Development and CLAD credential from California State University Northridge, she then completed her Elementary Teaching Credential at California State University Dominguez Hills.  Her teaching career began at 66th Street School in 1994, teaching 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grades.  After eleven years she began her twelfth year here at Paseo where she taught 1st and 2nd grades, with 2nd grade being her absolute favorite.  She is excited about the direction Paseo del Rey is heading and look forward to the 2016-17 school year and my new students.

Mrs. Dennis begin her teaching career at Paseo del Rey  in 1996. She taught third grade and second grade. She graduated from Loyola Marymount University with a BA in liberal studies, a clad teaching credential, and a minor in psychology. She loves teaching and especially loves when her students come back to visit her after they have graduated from high school and college.

Mrs. Drohan has taught for over 30 years, and has been at Paseo for 20 of those years.  She is a graduate of Loyola Marymount University where she received her teaching credentials.  Teaching is a very rewarding profession.  Se is very proud of all of her students and excited to hear about their successes in life with their education, careers and family.

 

Sheila Bouffard

Ms. Bouffard received her B.S. in Business Administration: Accounting Theory and Practice with a minor in Economics from USC (GO TROJANS)!  After working in the business world she returned to graduate school to do a dual M.S. with Elementary Education Credential with CLAD from Cal State Northridge.


Wende Wawerchak

Ms. Wawerchak graduated from Mount St. Mary’s University with a BA in Education.  She has been with LAUSD since 1989 and has taught 2nd- 6th grades.  She is a Nationally Board Certified Teacher since 2001, a Master Teacher for LMU and UCLA, and recently finished a fellowship with the Cotsen Foundation specializing in math.  From an early age she knew teaching children would be her career.

Mrs. Engler is a graduate of Mount Saint Mary’s University. She has been teaching with LAUSD for thirty-two years with the last twenty-four at Paseo del Rey Magnet. she has been a Mentor teacher for LAUSD, a Master teacher for Loyola Marymount University and National University, Coordinator for University of Phoenix, and a Cotsen Fellow.

Ms. LeDuff graduated from Loyola Marymount University in 2000 with a BA in Psychology.  She began her teaching career in LAUSD as a fifth grade teacher at Brentwood Science Magnet in 2001.  She taught second grade at BSM for eleven years before moving to a school closer to her home. In 2013 she began teaching sixth grade Math and Science at Orville Wright Middle School STEAM Magnet for three years.  Her love for elementary school brought her to Paseo this year.  She is hardworking, dedicated, and has been  enjoying every moment with her awesome fourth grade students!

Mrs. Heim graduated with a BA in Journalism from Point Loma Nazarene University in San Diego in 2004, and received her BCLAD teaching credential from  the same university in 2005. She has taught 1st, 2nd, 4th, and 5th grades with the Los Angeles Unified School District since 2006. She graduated from Cal Poly Pomona with an MA in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis on Design/Project Based Learning in 2016. She has taught at Paseo since 2014.

Loretta Ruttenberg

Ms. Ruttenberg graduated with a BA in Visual Art with Minors in Latin American Studies and Science from the University of California, San Diego, 1990;  She received a California Teaching Credential with BCLAD from California State University, Fullerton, California, 1993.  She taught Bilingual (Spanish) 1st and 2nd grades in the Whittier City School District 1990-1994; She has a Masters Degree from the Pontificial Catholic University in Lima, Peru in Anthropology (ethno-medical studies) 2001; She taught Biological Anthropology and Anthropology of Religion at Rio Hondo Community College in Whittier, California, 2005-2006.  She Began working in Los Angeles Unified School District at Brentwood Science Magnet Elementary, from 2008-2015 as a parent volunteer, a teaching assistant, a Substitute Teacher and as a 5th grade.  She has taught 5th grade Science and Health at Paseo del Rey Elementary since 2015.

 

Scott Andrew

Mr. Andrew Graduated from UCLA with a degree in Music and a credential in Teaching.  Mr. Andrew  has been teaching for 25 years with LAUSD.  He was a Math Middle School Teacher for 15 years at Orville Wright Middle School in Westchester and then came to Paseo in 2014.  He loves teaching Math and inspiring children with the same passion.
