Helene von Schreiber,

Magnet Coordinator


She received her B.S. at ASU and her Masters in Education and Technology from Pepperdine.  She also has an Administrative Credential.

Ms. von Schreiber been an educator with LAUSD for 17 years.  She has taught K, 3, 4, 5 and 6.  She left the classroom in 2005 to become a Math Coach.  She served in that position for 4 years at Paseo del Rey and Westport Heights.  She moved on to become a Title 1/Bilingual Coordinator, a General Coordinator and is now back at Paseo as the Magnet Coordinator. "I feel like I have come back home. I love my Paseo family!"

Janet Searcy,

Has been an educator for over 25 years.  She graduated from UCLA with a BA in History.  She has a Master's of Arts in Education Curriculum from CSUDH.  Her credentials include Special Education, General Education, and Administration.  Ms. Searcy started her educational career as a First and Third Grade Teacher for 4 years.  She was then a Resource Specialist Teacher for 10 years and has been an Assistant Principal for the 12 years.



Ashlee Stegen,

RSP Teacher


Ms. Stegen has been the Resource Specialist at Paseo since the 2015-2016 school year. Prior, she taught for two years at a private school, and before that worked as a behavior interventionist for five years. She received her BA degree from UC Santa Cruz. Ms. Stegen then went on to Cal State University Long Beach where she received her Education Specialist Credential and her Masters degree in Special Education and teaching. She is currently attending Cal State University Long Beach, working to obtain her administrative credential and a Masters degree in Educational Administration.

Instrumental Music Teacher


Ms. Edwards graduated from UC Berkeley with a BA in Music and received her teaching credential from UCLA.  She has done graduate work at the USC School of Music and the New England Conservatory.

Ms. Edwards has been teaching at Paseo for twenty-five years. She was the band and orchestras director at Mark Twain Middle School.

Her first instrument was the violin, which she began playing while in second grade at Brentwood Magnet Elementary.  She started playing brass instruments in seventh grade.

Today her main instrument is the French horn.  She performs with local community orchestras and is a member of the Roxbury Brass Quintet.

Mrs. Edwards loves teaching instruments to children and loves teaching at Paseo and being part of such a great staff.
